Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are the foundation on which tomorrow's innovative solutions are created. In particular, intelligent in-vehicle systems and the Internet are two major players driving ICT technologies forward. These technologies have enabled innovations in several sectors, including medical, manufacturing, automation, energy and others.
Connected objects, Big data, Cybersecurity, Cobots and Artificial Intelligence are the main catalysts of the industry of the future. These technologies are today in the most important phase of their development. Therefore, the main challenge is to develop the appropriate technologies, capable of responding immediately to market requirements and offering great flexibility in multiple environments. Recently, Covid-19 pandemic has shown how much healthier city life could be without clogged streets, deafening noise and polluted air. Given the growing interest in these objectives, this revolution is currently undergoing initial exploratory phases, and academics have begun to develop pedagogical approaches in this direction. In parallel, several works have started to eventually move the scientific model towards Industry 5.0.
This special session is seeking original, high impact research papers on all topics related to the development of applications of smart cities and smart industries, including but not limited to:
- Urban logistics innovations and logistic 4.0
